Understanding the breadboard

The first thing you should know is what a solderless breadboard looks like. See the image below:

Now you should know what a breadboard is used for. It's used to make circuits without having to solder them into place. This allows you to make changes very quickly and easily. To know how to use a breadboard you must know how it's set up. There are many holes on the board and certain ones are connected with a copperclad strip. See the two images below to see how the copper clad strips are set up.



To see how what it looks like when components are in a breadboard see fig 4 and fig 5. I can't explain how to hook up the compents to a breadboard just by looking at a schematic because it's not very teachable. Just practice and practice and one day you'll get the hang on it.
Some tips are:
1. Use the strips inbetween the blue and red for your power source. (i.e. solar cell or battery)
2. Try to make your circuits neat because it'll just make it more confusing when you take the parts out and put them in something a little more perminant.
